Mothers instinct as divine intervention

I found myself in Boots this week and picked up an item that was not on the list by any means. A random essential oil that I had no real use for. Cut to a few days later when my toddler couldn’t sleep for more than an hour straight because of a blocked and stuffy nose. And so it dawned on me to try this random baby concoction and alas, a few drops and some hot water in a saucepan later, my son was no longer breathing through his mouth and was able to actually fall asleep. A sigh of relief for two very tired parents.

And I can’t help but feel a sense of awe at this seemingly random chain of events. Because in reality, there is no such thing as random. All I can say is Subhanallah. That my instinct as a mother to pick this little bottle up from a section of Boots I didn’t need to be in in the first place tells me that a mothers instinct truly is divine intervention. To me, It makes Allah’s presence more visceral than intangible, that He is close to me wherever I am. Another day, another reminder that Allah provides and protects, often in ways we don’t even realise.

Political dissent is criminal
