Book Review: The Power of Dua -Aaliyah Umm Rayaan
‘Dua changes qadr’
Simple, but so powerful.
The Power of Dua was my Ramadan read this year and it honestly could not have come at a more perfect time.
Aaliyah's second book focuses on Dua (supplication), how to make dua to the fullest and the significance of a part of our faith that can sometimes be overlooked.
Thoughts:
Each chapter contains a story of how dua changed a person's life. And subhanallah, the stories collated in the book truly reminded me that Allah is the provider, limitless in His capabilities and generosity.
One of my key takeaways from the book is how dua can and should be a conversation, constant and flowing, between you and Allah. At times of happiness AND hardship, a moment to turn to Allah, with full vulnerability, to ask your Lord for His help.
Chapter six's story has been particularly impactful for me, a reminder that a simple dua can be whispered at any time of the day, whatever the ask, no matter how small or mundane. I find myself making small duas throughout the day for things that I previously, subconciously and unintentionally, deemed not important enough.
Overall, a highly recommend from me.
